Six Paths to Contribute
Can you …? We are looking for exactly you.
An open workshop thrives on those who participate. Here are six ways you can contribute — from a 15-minute issue to long-term stewardship. Every contribution counts, none is too small.
💻 Contribute Code — aufwand: 2 hrs to several weeks; → Browse repositories: Take a look at our repositories on Gitea. Search for issues labeled „good first issue" — you will find tasks there that can be completed without prior knowledge. Pull requests with tests are welcome.
📚 Improve Documentation — aufwand: 1 hr to several days; → Wiki on Gitea: Our wiki manuals, tutorials, and API documentation thrive on corrections, examples, and clarifications. Even a typo fix is welcome.
🌐 Translate (EN / VI / DE) — aufwand: 30 min to 4 hrs per page; → Offer translation: Maintaining the site in three languages (DE / EN / VI) is an ongoing task. Translations can be submitted directly via pull request or through the translation memory.
🎤 Give a Talk / Host a Workshop — aufwand: 1 day (preparation + event); → Suggest a workshop: Do you have expertise in one of our topics (Git, OSCAL, OPA, Compliance, BSI Basic Protection, NIS2, ...)? Contribute a workshop or talk to our series — in person in Frankfurt or remotely.
🧪 Test / Bug Reports — aufwand: 15 min to 2 hrs; → Create an issue: Try out our tools and report bugs. Reproduction steps and screenshots are also valuable. Issue templates are available per repository.
💶 Donate — aufwand: 1 minute; → Donate: With your donation, you strengthen our work. You will receive an official donation receipt pursuant to Section 50 (1) EStDV.
