The GitCover Commons gUG was recognized as non-profit in 2026 following an intensive preliminary review by the Bad Homburg tax office. We pursue four purposes outlined in our Articles of Association in accordance with Section 52 AO — each one forms a distinct pillar of our work.

What this means in practice

As a non-profit entity, we are not commercially active. We do not sell licenses, support, or consulting services. All commercial offerings within the GitCover network are provided by the for-profit companies — the Coverflex Project UG (consulting, project management) and the GitCover Development UG (contract development). They are independent companies with their own entrepreneurial responsibility.

For donors this means: Your contribution flows entirely into our purposes outlined in our Articles of Association, is tax-deductible (official donation receipt), and is published annually in the activity report.
